PPG PR-142 is a one-part adhesion promoter that enhances the coupling of polysulphide compounds to a wide variety of substrates. It is particularly well suited for use with sealants in aircraft windshield applications where substrate crazing is an issue, and is applied by brush or clean gauze.
Typical Properties
- Colour: colourless, free of particles; specific gravity 0.80; flash point (PMCC) 18 °C (65 °F)
- Dry time at 30–70% RH: 15 minutes at 25 °C; 45 minutes at 16 °C and 4 °C
- Does not soften finishes

Directions for Use
- Clean surfaces progressively with solvent and new lint-free cloth (AMS 3819) and dry with a second clean cloth
- Apply a thin coat, allow the dry time, wipe off excess with clean gauze and start sealing
- If the surface becomes contaminated or sealing is not done within 8 hours, reapply

- One-component bottles or Sempen® applicators
- At least 6 months below 27 °C in original unopened containers; hygroscopic, discard if cloudy or if particles are visible
