WACKER ELASTOSIL® RT 601 A/B is a pourable, addition-curing, two-part RTV-2 silicone rubber; this product is component B of the system (crosslinker). It has low viscosity and gives a crystal clear vulcanizate with medium hardness and excellent tensile strength. It is used as an all-round potting compound in measurement and control, sensor technology and automotive electronics, and for the manufacture of molded articles by casting.

- A: colourless, density 1.03 g/cm³, viscosity 5000 mPa·s; the platinum catalyst is in component A
- B: colourless, density 0.97 g/cm³, viscosity 40 mPa·s
- Mix ratio by weight or volume A:B 9:1; mixed viscosity 3500 mPa·s; pot life 90 min at 23 °C
Cured Properties (30 min at 150 °C)
- Colourless, transparent; density 1.02 g/cm³; hardness 45 Shore A
- Tensile strength 6 N/mm²; elongation at break 100%
- Volume resistivity 10¹⁵ Ω·cm; permittivity 2.8
Application
- Only components A and B with the same lot number may be processed together
- Sulfur, plasticizers, urethanes, amines and organotin compounds inhibit cure; surfaces must be clean
- Reactivity can be adjusted with Catalyst EP (accelerator) or Inhibitor PT 88 (pot life extender)
