3M 853 Polyester Tape combines a transparent polyester film backing with an exceptionally solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive system. It remains flexible from -50 °C to 175 °C, is firm, long-ageing and non-yellowing, and retains adhesion after immersion in aviation oils, hydraulic fluids and jet fuel.

- Temperature range -50 °C to +175 °C
- Adhesion to aluminium 3.3 N/10 mm after immersion in water, jet engine oil, hydraulic fluids and JP-4
- Excellent insulation as a dissimilar-metal insulator up to 160 °C (MIL-I-7798A)

- Protective laminate and tape hinges
- Identification marking tape when laminated to printed 3M 852
