Solvents

Solvents for degreasing, surface preparation and general cleaning: MIL-PRF-680 (PD-680) degreasers, acetone, MEK, isopropyl alcohol, toluene and PPG pre-paint surface preparation solvents (CN series, Desoclean). Brands include Zip-Chem, LPS, PPG and Ardrox; MABAYCO is an authorised distributor for Zip-Chem and PPG Aerospace. The contamination to be removed, evaporation rate, flash point and material compatibility drive selection. Pure solvents follow ASTM and TT standards (e.g. ASTM D329 acetone, TT-T-548 toluene).
