Momentive InvisiSil™ RTV6136-D1 is a low viscosity, two-component liquid silicone that cures to a very soft, gel-like elastomer. It is formulated for superior cured strength compared with conventional silicone gels and, with its fast room temperature cure, suits electrical/electronic and HEPA applications. RTV6136-D1 is clear and transparent (the blue transparent version is RTV6139-D1).
Features
- Superior tear resistance; fast room temperature cure; primerless adhesion to many substrates
- Low shrinkage, non-exothermic cure; low volatility and weight loss; removable and repairable
- 1:1 mix ratio; extended low/high temperature stability; resistant to fungi growth; solventless
Typical Properties
- Mixed (1:1 by weight): viscosity at 25 °C 750 cP; specific gravity 0.98; work life at 25 °C 30 minutes
- Cured (30 minutes at 150 °C): penetration 6.5 mm; volatility at 25 °C below 1.0%; refractive index 1.406
- Useful temperature range −50 to 204 °C
Curing and Use
- Cure time: 4 hours at 25 °C, 2 hours at 50 °C, 20 minutes at 100 °C, 10 minutes at 150 °C
- A and B batch numbers must match; deviations greater than 10% from the 1:1 ratio are not recommended; automated mixing is recommended due to the short work life
- Butyl and chlorinated rubber, sulfur-containing materials, amines and latex gloves can inhibit cure; for stronger adhesion use SS4155 primer (SS4120 on transparent surfaces)
- Part B can generate flammable hydrogen gas on contact with acidic, basic or oxidizing materials
