ZP-9F is a non-aqueous (solvent based) developer made of organic particles, often used in aerosol cans. It produces an opaque white coating and contrasting background for fluorescent and visible penetrant inspection. It dries fast, and its thin opaque coating masks surface blemishes. It is used to locate surface-breaking cracks, seams and porosity in welds, castings and forgings, leak testing, pressure vessels, and aircraft, marine, construction, maintenance, pipeline and power plant components.

- Density 780 g/L; NPE-free; form d/e
- Coverage approx. 20 m²/L; usage temperature 5–52 °C; storage 10–30 °C
- Apply by spray only; dipping or brushing causes excessive solvent action on the penetrant in discontinuities
- After the surface penetrant has been removed and the part dried, apply in thin even layers that just wet the surface, agitating during use
