Momentive RTV108 is a one-component, translucent, paste-consistency acetoxy silicone adhesive sealant. It cures to a tough, resilient silicone rubber on exposure to atmospheric moisture at room temperature and can be applied to vertical and overhead surfaces for general bonding, sealing and formed-in-place gaskets.

- Uncured: paste; density 1.05 g/cm³; tack-free time 20 min (25 °C, 50% RH)
- Cured (3 days, 25 °C / 50% RH): tensile strength 2.6 MPa; elongation 400%; hardness 30 Shore A
- Shear strength 1.4 MPa; peel strength 7 N/mm; dielectric strength 20 kV/mm
- Useful temperature range: −60 °C to +200 °C; intermittent up to 260 °C
Directions for Use
- Bonds to many clean metals, glass, ceramics, silicone rubber and some rigid plastics without primer; SS4004P, SS4044P or SS4179 primers for difficult substrates
- Clean surfaces with naphtha or MEK and wipe dry before application
- A 3 mm section cures through in about 24 hours at 25 °C / 50% RH; do not use in sections thicker than 6 mm
- Releases acetic acid during cure; not for delicate electronics where corrosion of copper or brass is a concern
