Momentive RTV5249 is a grey, one-component, ready-to-use, electronic grade silicone adhesive sealant from the RTV5240 series. It cures with atmospheric moisture through an alkoxy neutral cure system, approximately 4 times faster than typical alkoxy sealants. It can be used on corrosion-sensitive electrical and electronic equipment. It is UL listed under E-36952.

- Tack free 45 min; tooling time 10 min; a 3.2 mm section cures in 6 hours
- Cured: hardness 40 Shore A; tensile strength 2.2 MPa (320 psi); elongation 425%
- Dielectric strength 20 kV/mm; volume resistivity 3×10¹⁵ ohm·cm
- Retains elastomeric properties from −59 to 204 °C (−75 to 400 °F)
Use and Storage
- Use SS4179, SS4004 or SS4044 primer on difficult substrates
- Do not exceed 43 °C during cure
- Warranty period 6 months below 27 °C
