Momentive SilTRUST™ RTV88 is a high temperature, two-part silicone elastomer. It is supplied as a kit with a base compound and DBT (dibutyl tin dilaurate) as the standard curing agent; other catalysts are available for deep section cure, faster cure and automated mixing. Work time and cure rate can be varied by the amount and type of curing agent. It cures at room temperature, is free of solvents and solvent odour, and offers excellent adhesion with primer and excellent release properties. It is a red, spreadable paste. It is used for encapsulating electric motors and transformers, fabrication of rubber parts, casting molds for low-melting point metals, release applications and thermal insulation.
