Two-part and one-part epoxy adhesives, potting and filler pastes, and laminating resins for bonding metal, composite and honeycomb structures, potting, edge filling and repair. Brands include Loctite, 3M, Araldite, Hernon and Huntsman. Epoxies offer high shear and peel strength with chemical and temperature resistance; in aerospace, selection usually follows OEM specifications (e.g. Boeing BMS 8-xxx) and the Structural Repair Manual (SRM). Mix ratio, pot life and cure conditions are given in the TDS.

What is the difference between room-temperature and heat-cure epoxies?
Heat-cure epoxies usually give higher strength and temperature resistance but need an oven or heater. Room-temperature cure products are practical for field repair, and cure can be accelerated with heat.
Is the mix ratio by weight or by volume?
It depends on the product; the TDS may give both. Aerospace repairs usually use the weight ratio with a precision scale.
