What is speed tape?

Speed tape is an aluminium foil tape used for temporary repair, sealing and masking on aircraft surfaces. Polyken 345SW and 347 conform to AMS-T-23397. The aircraft maintenance manual and SRM set the conditions of use.

Which flammability requirements apply to cargo compartment tapes?

Tapes used to repair cargo compartment liners and panels must meet the FAR 25.853 and 25.855 flammability requirements. Polyken 290FR, 296FR and 297 are flame-retardant fibreglass tapes developed for this application.
